One idea per slide

Remember that when speaking in public, slides are only a visual aid. By applying the rule “one idea per slide”  you increase the impact of your remarks by preventing your audience from getting lost in what you’ve already said, but is still shown on the screen, or from what is already shown, but you haven’t said it yet.

When you build your presentation, it is during the storyboard stage that you separate what will be said with what will be shown.  When the task of dividing your talk by respecting this rule seems impossible, ask yourself what your key message is and what trace you want to leave behind. As Einstein said: “ If you can’t explain it simply, then you don’t understand it well enough.”
